Gandalf makes a mean firework

Today is Independence Day in the US and it will be celebrated with fireworks displays that will illuminate the night sky with brilliant colors and loud explosions.

Remember the awesome dragon fireworks from the beginning of The Lord of the Rings? No? It doesn't matter. upost some ideas for amazing fireworks that can do a lot more than shoot, spin, or go bang.

I'm imagining a firework that shoots into the sky and becomes a white hot galloping unicorn with a sword for a horn. Whenever he gallops there are crackling sounds that are like explosive horse hooves. Another firework shoots into the sky and it's a great green slithering snake. The unicorn slices it open with its sword horn and out of the snake pours candy like it's a giant piñata in the sky.
I'd like to go bang today...
After watching Vancouver's Columbia River bank erupt like the ending sequence of Return of the Jedi, I felt inspired for the first time in a long time about fireworks.

My friend in Seattle and I agree: cubes and other 3D shapes are cool. Geodesic domes and other R. Buckminster Fuller shapes would be whole-heartedly welcome. Where's the DNA double helix?
I think it would be awesome to have a totally biased "Presidential Target" fireworks display in which each US president's portrait is displayed, some to be surrounded with whirling star circles and fly off into space, others to have a big fireworks 'bomb' fall into them and they explode. heh heh. That would be totally cool. heh.

But I don't have anyone specific in mind. NOT.
