My father and I use "shoe shopping" to replace "banging" or "fucking" -- ever since Star Jones showed up in a Payless Shoesource ad and said in a sassy, fat, black lady voice "You know what I'm talking 'bout!" in reference to shoe shopping. She alluded to sex.

(AND: Everyone's still working on Tuesday, dude. The week began late.)

When I was 8, my dog had to be put to sleep. My father, however, told me that Jazz was "chasing chickens" and for several years, I believed there was a happy black mutt running around some chicken farm somewhere. To this day, "chasing chickens" is our universal pet death euphemism. Doesn't work so well for people. That would just be strange.

Someone mentioned 'carpet bombing' recently and many of us were confused as to what it really meant. In retaliation to our confusion, we decided it was a euphemism for rather violent oral sex given to a woman by a man. As in, 'Does the *carpet* match the drapes?' I think it would involve jumping onto a man's face...
