Omen: The red line just keeps getting slower and slower... It portends: The red line will soon run like the green line! :(

Omen: A woman outside my window screaches: "They keep cuttin' my haaaaair! Tell 'em to quit cuttin' my haaaair!"
Someone from across the street replies in a calm voice: Hey, calm down. I can hear you from inside the laundromat.
Woman replies (same shrill voice): "I'm a narc. I can do whatever I want!"

Portends: I will move to Paris, a land where people don't make sense merely because I don't speak the language.

Recently, every car I've walked by that is in the process of parallel parking has had major issues doing so. Several have hit the curb and 2 actually bumped the cars behind them. I think this portends that I will get my video editing done on time.

Omen: an echo on the Red Line comment...the T is now forcing Red Line trains to crawl over the Longfellow Bridge at 10mph because the bridge is about to crumble and 'they' have closed one car lane in each direction and didn't let any people stand on the bridge during the fourth of July, but it's OK to run trainloads of people over it.

Portends: I will die being crushed by shrieking, panicking commuters when my Red Line train plunges into the stinky Charles River. And...scene.

Death is overly romanticized in our culture. I don't think it's pretty to begin with. Might as well make it stinky and with a few hundred Red Line strangers.

Speaking of romanticizing death, I was checking out this book called "Famous Last Words" that had quotations by many well-known dead people in it. It was a great read. Some people said fantastic things before they died. Others just spoke the simple truth. John Lennon said, "I'm shot. I'm shot." Tallulah Bankhead said, "Codeine....bourbon."
